PORON FOAM PROPERTIES
Poron is a high density polyurethane foam used for sealing, insulation and cushioning. This durable, open-cell foam has strong compression set resistance making Poron seals a good choice for shock absorption and impact protection.
Poron foam contains no plasticizers or residual chemicals and will not become contaminated or brittle. Poron gaskets, which are inherently flame retardant, meet UL flammability standards and can resist many petroleum products, automotive fluids and chemicals.
CLASSES AND APPLICATIONS FOR PORON GASKETS
Poron foam is available in grades ranging from extra soft to very hard. Medical and antimicrobial grades of this microcellular urethane foam are also available. Generally, sealing, compression and gasket material with Poron foam improves with increasing width.
Applications for Poron gaskets include the automotive, communications and electronics industries. In the medical industry, Poron seals are used in medical devices and handheld LCD devices. Other applications of Poron polyurethane foam include industrial products and sports equipment.
HOW TO PRODUCE PORON GASKETS
FEZA ENGINEERING produces special Poron gaskets from high density foam sheets, rolls or finished reels. Since both sides of the Poron have a surface, PSAs are easily applied and the Poron can be used with a range of adhesives.
FEZA ENGINEERING can cut Poron sheets to precise tolerances and supply Poron seals with fabric backings and adhesive backings.
